‘Another Weekend’ is the bouncy new single from New York-based Ade. The track is held together by a looping and insistent drum sample, but above that, he allows both twinkling synths and his own voice to wander with slightly more freedom above the rigid rhythmic pattern. As the track progresses, we move into deeper electronic territory, with four-to-the-floor beats and off-beat hi-hats creating something that feels pretty much like house music. There is an interesting inspiration behind the track’s lyrics: “I get a kick out of the idea of a four-on-the-floor club track about being tired of going out. At the moment, I’m longing to be surrounded by obscenely loud music and sweaty strangers, but here’s to eventually being a homebody by choice again one day.” His debut album, Midnight Pizza, drops in April. -Dan Peeke
